This year marked the 4th anniversary of the Plants and Pillars Community, an organization dedicated to supporting and impacting lives through charitable acts across Ghana. To celebrate this milestone, the community organized a special event on March 30th 2024, showcasing their commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
The highlight of the celebration was a visit to the Akropong School for the Blind, a revered institution that provides education and support to visually impaired students. As part of the celebration, the Plants and Pillars Community donated a variety of essential items to the school, including souvenirs, toiletries, food, drinks, and a cash donation of 5,000 GHS. The items were carefully selected to meet the needs of the students and provide some comfort to them in their daily lives.

Celebrating with Purpose
The 4th anniversary event was not just a commemoration of the founding of the Plants and Pillars Community in April 2020, but also a reflection of the group’s core mission—to bring hope, care, and practical support to communities across Ghana. From its humble beginnings, the organization has grown into a vibrant force for good, continually seeking ways to uplift the less fortunate.
During the celebration at the Akropong School for the Blind, the team from Plants and Pillars Community spent time interacting with the students, sharing words of encouragement and reminding them of their inherent worth and potential. The donations were received with deep gratitude by both the students and the school administration.
A Legacy of Service
Over the past four years, Plants and Pillars Community has consistently focused on impacting lives through charity work, education support, and health initiatives. The anniversary celebration at Akropong School for the Blind is a continuation of the group’s longstanding tradition of supporting vulnerable groups, especially children, the disabled, and underprivileged communities.
Rachel Osae, the co-founder of the organization, shared heartfelt words at the event: “This anniversary is not just a reflection of the past four years, but a reminder that we have so much more to give. Our hope is to continue reaching out to those in need, sharing the love and care that can make a difference in their lives.”
Looking Ahead
The success of the 4th anniversary event has further strengthened the Plants and Pillars Community’s resolve to expand their outreach efforts. As they continue to grow, they plan to launch new initiatives and expand their focus to reach even more people in need across Ghana.
In the words of one of the event organizers: “We are committed to building on the foundation we’ve laid, and with the support of our community and partners, we will continue to be a pillar of hope for those in need.”
As the Plants and Pillars Community looks forward to many more years of service, their anniversary celebration at the Akropong School for the Blind stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment to charitable work and the positive impact they have on the lives of others.
Words of Faith and Motivation
Pastor Ben, one of the community’s pastors, played a key role in encouraging the students with both spiritual and motivational messages. He shared the Word of God, reminding the students of their unique gifts and the importance of faith in overcoming challenges. Pastor Ben emphasized that, despite difficulties, they have the strength within themselves to rise above obstacles and fulfill their potential.
“God has a plan for each of you,” Pastor Ben told the students. “You are strong, capable, and surrounded by love. Remember that no situation is too difficult for you to overcome when you walk in faith and believe in yourselves.”
A Tribute to the Late Father of the President

The anniversary celebration was also marked by the absence of the community’s president and founder, Nanabanyin, who was unable to attend due to the recent passing of his father. Although Nanabanyin was in the USA and could not be present as planned, his heartfelt message to the students was delivered by the executive members on his behalf.
In his message, he expressed his continued commitment to the cause and shared words of encouragement with the students, inspiring them to stay hopeful and resilient.
“My heart is with you all today,” Nanabanyin shared in his message. “Even in difficult times, we must continue to push forward, lifting each other up. You are all capable of achieving greatness, and we, as a community, will continue to stand by your side.”
Continuing the Spirit of Giving

Despite the somber tone brought by the loss of Nanabanyin’s father, the anniversary event was a success, filled with acts of kindness, motivation, and a shared commitment to the betterment of society. The event reflected the vision of the Plants and Pillars Community to support vulnerable groups, especially children with special needs, and to encourage them to rise above their circumstances.
As the community moves forward, they remain focused on continuing their charitable efforts, building on the foundation of love and service that has guided them since their inception. The celebration at Akropong School for the Blind stands as a testament to the community’s unwavering dedication to impacting lives for the better, even in challenging times.
